Your profile picture is your calling card. Appearances are very important in the cam model world and your profile pic is at the top of the list. Every model has his or her own way of appearing beautiful. If you’re not attractive or interesting to a certain customer, that doesn’t mean that you won’t appeal to a different customer. It’s all a matter of personal perspective. However, I would say with confidence that having the perfect profile picture for whatever cam site you decide to model on will make a huge difference in how you are perceived.

For example, let’s say you are a vivacious adventurer who loves exercise and dance music, but your profile picture paints you as a Gothic loner who is into whips and chains. Can you see how that would be confusing to any customer who enters your room? What you need to ensure is that your profile picture is in perfect harmony with who you are as a model. You want to make sure that when customers come to your room, they know exactly what they are getting into. What I love the best is when a model has an amazing profile picture and, when I enter his/her room, that model is even sexier. That’s such a great feeling. And, as a model, I love it when customers come into my room and tell me how wonderful I look.

Choose Your Style

So, how do you pick the perfect profile picture? Well, it’s really a matter of perspective, but here are a few tips to keep in mind.

First, you want to make sure that you are presenting the self that you want to be. That might sound easy, but remember the example I gave above. Make sure that when fans enter your room, they gain access to a model who looks even more stunning than the stunning picture that caused them to first be curious about who you are.

Be Professional

Second — go professional. Sure, you can shoot a good selfie, or set a timer and take a good picture — that’s very possible, but the more professional you take yourself the more it will show in how people perceive you. Take the time to make your image look incredible in a way that speaks to your personality, and make sure the angle and presentation are both of the highest quality. You’ll thank me later.

Locations Matter

Third, choose a great location. Consider being photographed on a bed of roses, or beside a grand swimming pool. Whatever location you choose, make sure that it communicates the message that you want to represent you. People might not consciously focus on the location, but if you are paying attention to the location so that it enhances your photo, you can’t go wrong.

Smile

Fourth, smile or show your most seductive face. Imagine the camera is the eye of a customer, of someone who really wants to spend time with you. Whatever it takes, try to show a face that expresses the mood or the tone of what kind of a model you are. When in doubt, go to some cam sites and check out other models who align to your sensibilities. Do some research as to what techniques work for others, or what are scientifically valid. How have they been photographed? What makes them stick out?

Update Your Profile Pic

Fifth, update, update, update. It’s probably a good idea to switch up your profile pic every so often. Spice is the variety of life. Be prepared with a good handful of profile pictures, and see which ones work better. If you notice a trend, consider doing a whole photo set of similar photos.

Don’t Be Afraid to Be Bold

As always, be bold. Be adventurous. And have fun! If you’re having fun, chances are the profile shots will look stunning. And, if you’re not satisfied, keep taking shots until you are. The awesome thing about being a cam model is that, for the most part, you are your own boss. That’s one reason why this work is so rewarding. So, go out, take amazing pics, and good luck!
