Guide to Camming LaughterWe all like to laugh. Learning how to make customers burst out laughing in the chat room is an invaluable resource. It’s also a resource that could increase both your earning potential as well as the enjoyment you feel after you put in those long “tip filled” hours in front of the computer. So often do we become focused purely on earning, and forget the joy of actual human interaction and what lies behind being an ultra-successful cam model, i.e. caring for your customers and having a good time with them. It’s time for that to change. Chances are that the better time you’re having with your customers, the more you will earn. Make your goals, enjoy the moment, and the tips and the money will come. But enjoying the process has a supreme value in and of itself.

May I Laugh Now?

In an interview, the mega-successful male cam model Izzi once stated, “Watch comedy!” In that same interview he went on to talk openly about how he preps himself into “cam mode” before a cam show. Simply said, he’ll often watch comedy. For Izzi, comedy puts him in the groove (well, that and maybe some sexy adult material, too). Using humor can also diffuse any tensions that might arise in your room. Let’s say that your fans are staring to fight over you, or at each other for whatever reason. It’ll take a smooth negotiator to quench those angry flames. One solution could be to use humor to deflect the argument, and turn the attention back on what really matters (having a good time!). Another solution is to use humor to shift the tone in the room. The last you want is for everyone to leave because two customers were fighting. Take the high road. ARE YOU OFFERING VODs?

Does your cam site offer you the chance to upload or sell “Video on Demand” content? If so, are you taking advantage of this potentially lucrative angle? Or, are you new to the idea of VODs and how they can work to your advantage?

“Video on Demand” clips and streaming content has been around for years now, but make sure you’re tapping into the possibilities in using them in ways that help you promote your brand and earn you extra income. Some cam sites offer the ability for you to either upload or sell your streamed (and recorded) cam shows.

Either way, these sites tend to give you the ability to create a unique title, write a description, add tags, and even set your own price point. Imagine if you’re a customer who comes to your profile page and wants to have a show, but you’re not online. Maybe that customer will go to another model, or maybe that customer will see that you offer a series of unique VODs for purchase. Interested in seeing you in action, the customer proceeds to purchase a couple VODs. Then, after watching (and loving) them, he/she makes sure to catch you the next time you are online.

Do you see how that worked? Because of your VOD presence, you were able to gain a new customer who can’t wait to take you into a private show. Pretty cool, right? Now, imagine if you remain consistent and make sure that you upload a few VODs per week and you go on to do that for several months. Pretty soon your VOD catalog will grow and grow, and given the tags that you choose, and what kind of customers you attract, you’ll have a solid chance to gain a ton of new followers and people who want to spend more and more time with your original content.

TWITTER TIME: GET SAVVY WITH SOCIAL MEDIA!

Twitter offers a fantastic way to advertise your brand online. Many cam models use Twitter and know of its value. For example, are you about to go online? Send a tweet to your fans. Does your cam site have an affiliate link that earns you passive income? Send out that link and don’t forget to put that link in your bio. Or, are you doing a live show and want to draw attention? One method is to post a shot of yourself in your cam space and tweet it out along with the link. And these are just but a few ways that Twitter can help you elevate your online presence from amateur to spectacular top model.

It’s a process of teasing them with high-quality content and keeping engaged with them. And, yes, I realize that not everyone has time to reply to each and every tweet, but at least trying to do your best will help grow your brand.

PROFILE PICS MAKES A POTENT DIFFERENCE

Appearances

Your profile picture is your calling card. Appearances are very important in the cam model world and your profile pic is at the top of the list. Every model has his or her own way of appearing beautiful. If you’re not attractive or interesting to a certain customer, that doesn’t mean that you won’t appeal to a different customer. It’s all a matter of personal perspective. However, I would say with confidence that having the perfect profile picture for whatever cam site you decide to model on will make a huge difference in how you are perceived.

For example, let’s say you are a vivacious adventurer who loves exercise and dance music, but your profile picture paints you as a Gothic loner who is into whips and chains. Can you see how that would be confusing to any customer who enters your room? What you need to ensure is that your profile picture is in perfect harmony with who you are as a model. You want to make sure that when customers come to your room, they know exactly what they are getting into. What I love the best is when a model has an amazing profile picture and, when I enter his/her room, that model is even sexier. That’s such a great feeling. And, as a model, I love it when customers come into my room and tell me how wonderful I look.

Choose Your Style

So, how do you pick the perfect profile picture? Well, it’s really a matter of perspective, but here are a few tips to keep in mind.

First, you want to make sure that you are presenting the self that you want to be. That might sound easy, but remember the example I gave above. Make sure that when fans enter your room, they gain access to a model who looks even more stunning than the stunning picture that caused them to first be curious about who you are.

Be Professional

Second — go professional. Sure, you can shoot a good selfie, or set a timer and take a good picture — that’s very possible, but the more professional you take yourself the more it will show in how people perceive you. Take the time to make your image look incredible in a way that speaks to your personality, and make sure the angle and presentation are both of the highest quality. You’ll thank me later.

Locations Matter

Third, choose a great location. Consider being photographed on a bed of roses, or beside a grand swimming pool. Whatever location you choose, make sure that it communicates the message that you want to represent you. People might not consciously focus on the location, but if you are paying attention to the location so that it enhances your photo, you can’t go wrong.

Smile

Fourth, smile or show your most seductive face. Imagine the camera is the eye of a customer, of someone who really wants to spend time with you. Whatever it takes, try to show a face that expresses the mood or the tone of what kind of a model you are. When in doubt, go to some cam sites and check out other models who align to your sensibilities. Do some research as to what techniques work for others, or what are scientifically valid. How have they been photographed? What makes them stick out?

Update Your Profile Pic

Fifth, update, update, update. It’s probably a good idea to switch up your profile pic every so often. Spice is the variety of life. Be prepared with a good handful of profile pictures, and see which ones work better. If you notice a trend, consider doing a whole photo set of similar photos.

Don’t Be Afraid to Be Bold
