Guide to Camming Tips

TIPPED? GIVE THANKS FOR THE TIP!

MoneyGiving thanks on cam for a tip is always the right move. Imagine that you are a customer. Maybe you work three jobs. Or, maybe you work one very laborious full-time job. Your money counts. Every dollar counts. As a treat to yourself, you choose to spend time at your cam site of choice. There, you find a model who really gets you jazzed up. You want to tip. So, when the mood hits you, you drop a tip to show the model how much you care. But… the model doesn’t reply. It seems like the model really doesn’t care. And, suddenly, more customers start tipping. The model says nothing. He or she just carries on. Did they see your tip? Did they notice it? Maybe they were just too busy. So, you wait until a different day, a slower day, and drop another tip. But, even then, upon tipping, the model says nothing. You know that they saw the tip. You know that they felt the tip (it was a nice-sized tip!) yet, they said nothing. If you were that customer, do you think you’d want to keep visiting that model? I’d guess not. People like to be a part of something that they desire. If you receive a tip, please show your appreciation to the tipper. That one act of appreciation could keep that customer coming back for a long time.

Did you have a private show with a customer? Make sure you tell them how thankful you are at the end of the private show. Being taken into any kind of a private situation means that the customer took a particular liking to the magic that you are spreading. That customer wanted to spend time solely with you. And, in this competitive atmosphere, you’ll want every private show you can get. It’s what sets you apart from the competition. Are you in-demand? If not, study this site and we’re sure that you’ll grow yourself into an impressive cam model.

Tell your customer how much you love their company and how they make your day when they come visit you and how special they make you feel. At the end of the day, make sure you tell them how special theyTips are. Everyone likes to know that they are special. Customers are no different. Show your appreciation to them and that appreciation will keep them coming back. It’s the simplest truth, but believe me, it is a truth to be reckoned with.

And you, you’ll be seen as special, too, because that customer will remember how you thanked them. And, if they visit other models who fail to reflect their uniqueness, you can bet that they’ll be back to your room in no time.

Appearance is important

APPEARANCE: PRESENT YOURSELF WELL

APPEARANCE IS IMPORTANT

Hopefully, coming into the world of webcam modeling, you have some kind of interest in human sexuality other than self-gratification. What I mean is that hopefully, in your interest in human sexuality, you have already thought about your own appearance (both inner and outer) and how you present yourself on cam. In this article we’ll open up the idea of appearance and how to better understand and work with your appearance. In doing so, you’ll find yourself more confident and more able to comprehend how to succeed on cam. So, sit back and relax. Dive in deep with these three ideas on appearance and cultivating your image.

VISUAL CULTURE

AppearanceWe are a visual culture. There’s no way around that. Humans use of sight and visual interpretation is unparalleled. This is why we have web cameras and not only web microphones. Can you imagine a chat room that is ONLY voice? It would be radio. Surely, we can appreciate our other senses, but the sense of sight reigns supreme. In this way, you’ll want to focus your attention on how you appear on cam. Most customers will judge you rather immediately. There’s not much of a way to get around this. Customers choose impulsively and choose based on how your visual image stimulates their unconscious. What I mean is that your visual image will be judged (subconsciously) by how you stimulate their loins or the beat of their heartbeat.

CUSTOMER CONNECTIONAppearance

In the real world, sexuality is all about connection. What’s interesting about the cam world is that, though we are not engaged in actual skin-to-skin sex, we definitely foster an environment of connectivity by way of the digital realm. Essentially, though the eyes are focused on the representation of the performer on the screen, the minds of the customer and the cam model are connected (at least ideally speaking). Growing this connection is vital to an invigorating session.

BE AN ICON

AppearanceAn icon is an image of the Ideal. That’s essentially what you have become upon embarking on the wonderful journey of becoming a cam model. Present yourself well and let that iconic flavor that you bring to the table fuel your flow from beginner to webcam legend. Think about your own life. Who are some sex-appeal icons who come to mind? What can you learn by observing their on-camera behavior? How do they connect with their fans? What makes them stand out? What do they do that truly makes them “iconic?” Think about this. Learn from this.

AppearanceIn closing, how you present yourself and how you work to connect with your fans will work to your advantage and escalate your experiences on cam. My belief is that you’ve come to this site to improve yourself as a webcam model. Maybe you’ve come here as an absolute newcomer to the industry or maybe you’ve come here as an experienced model who is looking to improve. Either way, your focus is the same. You yearn for growth and self-improvement. By using the tips and advice that we are providing you with, you’ll find yourself improving on-cam almost immediately. It will all come down to how much and how strongly you implement these changes.

Camming Confidentially – Part 1 General Privacy and Safety Tips

When considering having a go at cam modeling, there are an awful lot of things to take into account. Among them, safety and privacy are top priorities. This is part one of a list of steps you can take to make sure you’re protected while camming, and to keep your private life as separate as possible from the life you live while broadcasting. Here, I’ll  talk about some general steps you should take. In part 2, I’ll talk about social media. Here goes:

SSL Certification

Make sure the site or sites you broadcast on are SSL certified. Most of the top sites use SSL. It’s a means of encrypting your information to keep it indecipherable to users.

Geoblocking

The top cam sites allow you to use Geoblocking. This allows you to block users by IP addresses associated with your own city, state or country. Meaning your local family members and neighbors will not be able to see your stream. This is extremely important, but it’s not a catch-all. It’s not uncommon for live-cam customers to use VPNs that provide IP addresses in different regions, or to overcome Geoblocking restrictions while traveling. Also, if you’re ever a guest on another model’s stream, you should find out what their Geoblocked areas are and make sure they don’t conflict with yours.

A Stage Name for your Stage Name

This should go without saying, but always use a fake name and birthdate. Never reveal important vital information to your guests and customers, no matter how much you like them. You can celebrate your fake birthday with your viewers, while still keeping your real DOB a secret. Sometimes, when customers visit you often and feel they’ve formed a relationship, they’ll be desperate to learn your real name. It’s a good policy to have a second fake name in the back of your mind for these occasions. Your privacy is still protected, and your customer gets to feel special at the same time.

Cam-Persona Email

Create a separate email address for your modeling persona. Do not use your personal email address for promotional social media accounts, like your cam-model Twitter or Instagram page. It’s searchable on most social media sites. For more on locking down your personal and professional social media accounts, check out part 2 of this article here.

Vague Conversation

I’ve already mentioned the importance of your stage name and a fake DOB. But sometimes it’s easy to let things slip while camming. We’re only human, after all. And our job as cam models is to connect with other humans. But it’s good, safe practice to be vague about what you do when you’re off-cam. Talk about your favorite music, but don’t mention the upcoming concert you have tickets for. Talk about your favorite food, but leave out the names of restaurants you love. Talk about a steamy college encounter, but don’t mention the name of the school or the professor involved. It’s a hard but important line to walk when you’re building relationships with fans and customers. The less specific information they have, the safer you are.

Clean Broadcast Space

Some models love changing locations. Broadcasting from your backyard or your kitchen can be cool and intimate in different ways. But you have to pay attention to what they can see apart from your beautiful face. Family photographs on your nightstand, framed diplomas or certificates, and even the view out your window can hint at your real identity and location. I personally prefer to have one designated “clean” space for broadcasting. It’s simpler and requires less maintenance.

No Clicking!

Never open links from your customers. Not in chat. Not in email. Not in a tweet. No matter how trustworthy they seem, this is the best policy. When camming, always exercise caution. Apart from malware and viruses, there is also software that can reveal your IP address, which can give away your location.

Wish Lists

As your customers start to feel closer to you, they’ll want to send you real, tangible presents. Enter the wish list. Some of the top sites, like Flirt4Free.com, have their own internal wish lists. If they have one, use it! If you end up using a service like Amazon instead, there are a few precautions you should take. Set up a P.O. box or UPS box under your stage name and in a zip or post code that is not your own. A customer can use delivery tracking to find out where their gift was sent. Set up an Amazon (or whatever) account using your stage-persona email only, and make sure your shipping address is not displayed.

Gifts in Return

Some models hold raffles and contests in their chatrooms while camming, and give away prizes. Customers love it, but they can also learn your approximate location through the post. I think digital prizes like photo sets and videos are the safest way to go. But if you must mail someone your dirty undies, send it from a city that is not your own.

Of course, with anything in the information age, nothing is guaranteed.  Despite your best efforts, there may still be an awkward conversation with family members or friends in your future. Being a cam model is rewarding, lucrative and fun, but it also becomes a public persona. If the thought of this kind of exposure creeping into your personal life is extremely upsetting, you might want to consider a different career. Be sure to check out Part 2 for some tips on locking down your personal and professional social media accounts.

Thanks, and keep camming!

GIG ECONOMY: CAM FOR CASH

It’s no secret that now, more than ever, people are taking their creative and professional lives into their own hands, and making the most of what they have and of what they can do. It’s all about the gig. Webcam modeling as a way to earn extra money in this “gig economy” is not only smart, but absolutely enjoyable and unique.

A GOOD GIG

What makes webcam modeling a great choice for extra gigs is that you can do it right from the comfort of your own home. Depending on the site, the sign-up process is usually pretty quick, and some webcam companies have excellent service in terms of walking new models through the process of signing up and thriving on site.

WORLDWIDE AUDIENCE

Also, camming is great, because it opens you to a worldwide audience. If you’re a taxi driver, you’re bound by the actual physical location of where you work from (i.e. your car). Not so with camming. You can cam from anywhere (given the rules and regulation of your platform of choice), and you can connect to a huge audience consisting of people from all around the world. You can also control which countries and/or states you don’t want to see you. “Geo-blocking” is what it’s called. A lot of models do it. It’s all about building your brand and how you want to be seen (and where you want to be seen from).

SET YOUR HOURS

gig economyAnother reason why camming is so great in the gig economy is that you can set your own hours. Don’t like waking up early to clock in on time at your office job? No worries. You can cam over your morning cup of coffee. Also, you can cam in the shower. Third, you can cam from the comfort of your own bed. Now, not many other professional opportunities can boast that level of freedom. Truly, camming is one of the most innovative and easy-to-start paths you’ll ever encounter.

EXPRESS YOURSELF

Finally, camming allows you to express yourself in ways that more traditional jobs do not. With camming you can develop yourself as a public speaker, an entertainer, a dancer, a singer, and on and on. Fans will love coming to your room to spend time with you. You’ll become someone special to people all over the world. As a model, they’ll look up to you and love being with you. It truly is a unique experience as you learn the personalities and stories of so many people around the globe.
