Feel Special

Feel Special

Have you ever went to a party and no one spoke to you? No one looked at you? Or, maybe no one was interested in you? That’s not a good feeling, right? It’s the same way in your chat room.

feel specialMost people who spend time with you online want to feel special. They probably want to make you feel special, too, given the opportunity. If you sense that, return the favor to them, and feel that smile spread on their face (or through their tips), because you’ve just upped the excitement level in their bodies.

No matter if you’re giving a Group Show, a Party Chat, or just chilling in an Open Room, the more special you can make your customers feel, the more likely they are to want to get to know you better, and more privately. Instead of feeling left out of the party, they suddenly feel included, fuzzy inside, special, and wanted. Most importantly, you’ve made an impression on them that they won’t soon forget and that’s part of the show.

Communication

Communication is King

CommunicationAs a model, your chat room is not only driven by your physical performance and sexual appeal, but also by how you choose to interact (i.e. chat or speak or communicate) with those who have chosen to spend time (and hopefully money) in your room. Thus, it’s very important how you communicate with those who have chosen to spend time with you online. Greeting customers with a blown kiss, a wave, a smile, with a vocal shout-out, or with a personalized whisper can catch their attention and make them want to further interact with you. Of course, we all have moments when we just want to relax and keep quiet, but remember that new people are coming into your room all the time. At heart, communication is king.

Unless you’re fully engaged in a physical performance (dancing, exercising, etc.), take a moment to say or write, “Hi” to those who’ve opened the virtual door to your fantasy space and let them know that you recognize them. Even if they don’t reply to you, that doesn’t mean they’re not taking note of how you interact with them. Any gesture of flirtatious kindness or genuine niceness that you express will make a positive impact on your customers.

CommunicationKeep in mind that some users also enjoy watching a chat unfold as a kind of silent voyeur. They want to see your replies to others. They want to hear your voice. They want to hear you laugh and moan. They want to experience whatever role you’re performing. In short, they want to watch you. Taking a moment to talk to your customers, even if they don’t reply, could transform your live experience in a positive and more profitable way.

And, at the end of the day, don’t we all want to look back at the work we did on cam and think, “Wow, that was a great experience.” By exercising better communication strategies, we are taking those steps to better ourselves and better how our rooms operate. Plus, we are taking concrete steps to increase the good energy in our room, and, in doing so, increase how much we can make in a cam session. Keep positive. You can do it!

USE YOUR VOICE

Webcamming has evolved a lot since its humble origins twenty years ago. In the current climate, cam models are expected to engage customers with interactive devices, be active on social media platforms, attend industry events, and even take on a niche celebrity appeal. But certain fundamentals haven’t changed. The most important being… “Use your voice.” The act of customer to model camming works so well because of the personal bond that can arise when both parties are actively engaged in the moment. The more real you can make the experience, the better of an experience it will be, and using your voice is one key way to increase the illusion of closeness.

The next time you are in a chat room, pay attention to how the model communicates with you. Does he/she mainly type? Do they talk? Do you work with a combination of both? Or, does the model completely ignore the room and do whatever they want to do? I’ve seen all of these situations play out many times over the years, but the model who uses his/her voice is always the one who will keep my attention the longest. Why? Because, it’s special to be able to hear the voice of a model that you like. Plus, conversing is an excellent way for customers to be drawn in to the rich flirtatious subtleties that your voice contains. Of course, if a customer takes you into a private show and demands that you be quiet, then, yeah, it’s probably a good idea to listen to them, but in most any other situation, communicating with your voice will enliven your room and make people want to stay.

Finally, remember that your voice is a powerful tool. You can use your voice to tell stories to your room. Or, you can use your voice to moan and oooh and ahhh your customers into a relaxed state of sensual pleasure. Are you a good joke teller? Make them laugh. Maybe you want to talk about your sexual experiences? Tell them about it. There’s a big difference between writing out the words and speaking them into existence. There’s something powerful about the human voice that the written word just doesn’t capture, especially in a camming context. Your voice is a tool just like your physical attributes. It defines you. Your voice allows you to be heard. So, go out there, dear model, and make your voice heard!

SPICE UP YOUR PROFILE

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — having a well-maintained profile will greatly help you out in the long run. Remember, the Internet doesn’t sleep. People are coming to your profile at all hours of the night and day. Just because you aren’t online, doesn’t mean people aren’t going to somehow find you. So, what happens when they arrive at your offline profile? Are you going to let them get away or do you want to catch them and make it so that they are absolutely eager to return to your room when you are online? I think the answer is obvious.

Spicing up your profile is a great way to communicate yourself to potential customers. Many people will judge you by a profile image or a thumbnail of you. They will make so many assumptions based on that picture. It’s your job to steer your brand image in the right direction by how you actually are. And where does that information come to life? On your profile, of course.

We all know that you are more than just a talking head on cam. You are a real flesh and blood human being. And, you know all about yourself. But does a customer who has never once met you in person really know who you are? No, of course not. So, your profile is the best way to lay the foundation of what they can expect to see in your room. You could also tell them other things about yourself that could lure them in for time to meet you. Ultimately, meeting you will be a great experience, and it’s what can lead you one step closer to gaining a new fan.

Think about yourself. And, think about what you want to express on your cam bio. Are you an outgoing athlete looking to unwind? Or, are you a geeky gamer who can’t wait for the newest hottest video game to drop? Write about it. Express it. Communicate it. The more articulately you can express yourself in your bio (or on your profile), the more steps you are taking to clearly show off your strengths and interests.

What do you think are the most important areas of a cam model’s profile? Chime in below and let us know. Thank you!

AVOID A SILENT ROOM

What is a silent room? Well, a silent room is a room where no one is engaging with you, where you are not engaging with your fans, and where, in general, nothing much is really going on. Maybe you’ve had the experience of visiting other models’ cam rooms and, upon entering, seen that no one is chatting, no one is talking. Maybe the model is gazing off into space. Or, maybe he or she is checking their cell phone or yawning, etc. Ask yourself, is this a good look for a cam model? Is this type of behavior going to attract customers? Do you think customers will be impressed by this behavior? Professionally, we at Guide to Camming, tend to think not.

Avoid a silent room… at all costs. Your time on cam is limited. Maybe you are online for two hours, four hours, or eight hours. In that time, treat your room like a performance space. And always remember your purpose. Do you want customers to take you into some kind of a private show? Maybe you want customers to throw tips your way in the open room? Whatever your purpose, strive to make that happen. Being bored to appearing bored won’t accomplish that goal. The more goal-oriented you are, the better results you will have. And maybe you don’t have a goal. That’s fine. Be fluid. Let yourself be open to the possibilities and see what happens. But, at all times, don’t settle for a silent room. You are in control and you are the star of the show.

Music helps. Music can help you open yourself up on cam. It can also help lighten the mood of your room. Try creating a playlist that makes you feel sexy and confident and compliments your persona on cam. What would you call such a playlist? Would the first song be one that energizes the room or would it be something personal and inward-facing? The playlist you create or choose should suit your style. Show customers who you are by how you express yourself. Personally, I like to choose music that gets me in an absolutely hyped-up mood and makes me feel sexy so that my camming persona never drops.

How about you?
